Task 5

This task includes a series of live fish trials that aim to:

5.1. Optimize the formulation of immunostimulant aquafeeds enriched with macroalgae (either as a whole or extracts), through the determination of effective prophylatic dosages and treatment duration

5.2. Validate of immunostimulant aquafeeds in a climate change context

Optimization and validation of these experimental functional aquafeeds will be achieved through the confirmation of farmed fish gut microbiome modulation, tissue integrity and functioning (Task 2), as well as, the improvement of fish immuno-metabolic responses and resistance to Vibrio harveyi (Tasks 3-4) under optimal and altered (due to marine heatwaves and/or hypoxia) rearing conditions.
